Meet Sarah Leclerc, the visionary founder of La Base and a passionate advocate for natural skincare. Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Sarah's journey began with her own experiences as a mother. After discovering the remarkable healing properties of breastmilk for her son Rémy's skin, she was inspired to create a skincare range that empowers other mothers to harness the power of their bodies. In January 2022, while balancing motherhood and her career as a pharmacy technician, Sarah embarked on a mission to develop effective skincare solutions. Her breakthrough came when she combined her breastmilk with nourishing ingredients to create a nappy rash cream. The results were astounding, leading her to refine her formula and ultimately launch her innovative Lait Labs kits. Sarah's commitment to helping mothers is at the heart of her brand. With each product, she aims to provide families with natural, effective solutions that promote healthy skin.

La Base is thrilled to welcome Kobi Tollitt as the second owner of the brand. When Kobi first learned about Sarah and her groundbreaking breast milk skincare kit, she immediately saw the vision and potential. After their first meeting, it was clear that their connection went beyond business—they shared a passion for multi-use products to reduce waste, minimal chemicals for their children, and a shared sense of humour. Despite living in different countries, Sarah and Kobi have forged a strong partnership rooted in their dedication to the brand and its mission. Together, they work tirelessly to bring innovative, organic, and natural skincare to people who share their values. Their collaboration is a testament to the power of connection, shared purpose, and a commitment to making a positive impact in the world—one skincare product at a time.
